My friend Monica, aka Dangerpants, said that she was sitting down having a conversation with Phil at the LA Decom last year and was thinking to herself what a handsome and distinguished gentlemen he was, in his suit and tie and slicked back hair...

hey do you guys remember when we went to a Venice hippie robot festival in the desert and our camp was always invaded by hot underage cabana rocket scientists serving tuna from tall bikes with kangaroo pouches full of frozen chocolate and they were all looking for Justine so they could marry her?

So - our Fruitbat on the playa. Never met the girl before I was thrown into camp with her, as i was coming off the back end of one of my own self-induceds comas. It was fun getting to know her this way. I enjoyed her calm approach to adventure, her centered self-ness (not self-centeredness), her kind words at sensitive moments, and her utter unflappability. Also enjoyed catching her and a freind tangled up on the camp couch one lovely night, but that's for Cracked out Love Stories ;)

Anyway, I guess I actually *did* see her flapped... once.

Poor fruity was beside herself in tears one afternoon at camp, almost inconsolable it seemed. Her signature sunflower headgear had gone missing, and it was apparently of significant sentimental value for her. Boo - that SUCKS :)

As it happened, my dear playa buddies Brian and Nancy from portland ( i LOVE YOU, you two! ) had stopped by that morning, and somehow Justine's sunnyflowers had hopped on Nancy's bike, apparently attempting an escape. We happened to catch a photo of the very moment the breakout occured; it's posted here for your pleasure :) Needless to say, Fruity was her sunny self again as soon as the flora was returned to the fauna :)

The sun came out twice that day! Love you Justine :)

Can I just say I love this girl. From the day I first met her she opened her home and her heart to me. She sicked eBear on me and with his approval she accepted me a good friend ever since. At first glace I thought she was a cute, sweet girl with amazing abs. Little did I know what a curious mischief maker she was. When she's not crashing her car into an apple orchard (do ask her about this) her curiosity is leading her into all kinds of unusual places. I have to say, she's shamelessly picked me apart from the day I met her with horribly personal questions, taking apart my brain down the the neuron. And I have to say I loved every minuet of it! ;) Apart from this she has worlds of depth. She has cute, little teeth that are fun to brush. She is one heck of a snuggle muffin. She has a strong empathy for those around her and a deep capacity to feel joy and sorrow. When she needs to be a rock, she is, no questions asked. Those she loves, she loves very deeply. Oh. And she has this beautiful lesbian lover named Irene. They like to gush about each other on Tribe! ;)

thought before I bequeathed the throne of this here Adoration Box to my soon to be named successor, I'd leave something behind for you to chew on.

Once upon a time Irenie Beanie lived in Brooklyn. She was actually Puerto Rican*, and rocked Polo and big doorknockers on her ears and ate small children for breakfast. She disliked puppy piles, in fact she ate them for dinner, after eating babies as a mid-day snack.

Then she moved to LA and got soft, real fast.

Thanks to people like you, who's smothered her with so much wuv, she no longer feels the need to express herself in this manner. She now frolics in the woods and lets whole hives of bees attack her face and rolls with dumplings on the floor of newfound friends' homes in puppy piles WITHOUT eating them! She jumps half nekkid onto gogo stages in the middle of the freezing desert and then leaves pieces of her butt on rusty art car nails without reverting to homicide!

It's crazy, I know, but finally we have seen the day that babies all over the world no longer live in fear of being eaten alive by Scary Irenie Beanie....
